A though for the blind children

It touched deep
In my heart the other day
When some unseeing angels
Groped in hot sun
Crossing the road
And I prayed
For some magic wands
From the sky
To take them
Safely home,
And I also wished
These unseeing angels
Were fed by those magic hands
With nourishments
That their own parent’s
Could ill afforded,
Perhaps meeting out
Neglect, or sheer
Negligence, or
Out of stark poverty.

Whatever be, Oh God!
Give all of them
Their respective due,
As I have
All due regard for You
And we all pray alike,
With our eyes closed.
